The Church (Ipswich) – Music & Arts Venue
The Church is one of Ipswich’s most exciting cultural spaces — a transformed Grade II listed medieval church right in the town centre. Following a major £450k renovation funded by Ipswich Borough Council and SIGIF, the venue reopened in spring 2023 as a 200-capacity home for live music, arts, markets, workshops and community events.
Blending centuries-old heritage with modern production, The Church features a D&B audio rig, dedicated lighting, a stylish café/bar, and even award-winning toilets. With its flexible standing layout, perimeter seating, and backstage room for performers, it has quickly become a creative hub for Ipswich.
The venue has already welcomed an impressive roster of artists including Richard Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis, Robyn Hitchcock, Naima Bock, Scott Matthews, Pom Poko and more — highlighting its importance as the next-step music venue the town has long needed.
